Baggage policy

A very important aspect of planning your trip is baggage. In order to avoid problems we suggest you continue reading to be informed concerning our baggage policy and how it applies to the class you are traveling in and your destination.

For international flights AeroMéxico uses a mixed baggage control system, that is, there are limits on the number of bags you intend to check as well as their weight and volume.

For domestic flights, however, weight is the important factor irrespective of the number of items you check.

Continue reading in order to see how each baggage control systems works.

Byitem: this is a regulated system for all international routes and the regulations are determined by the point of origin and destination. Depending on the route, (point of origin and destination) and the class you are traveling in a certain number of items are permitted. The excess charges for exceeding these limits also vary from country to country.

Byweight: this is the system applied in Mexico for domestic flights; that is, the free baggage allowance is based on the total weight of baggage and the class of service being used. This means that the route and/or class you choose determines the weight of baggage you are permitted to carry at no extra charge.

Byvolume: this is the total linear dimension (height, depth, length) of each item.
