Do I need a special document to travel to the United States with my children but without my spouse?
Minors must hold a Mexican passport in order to be able to leave Mexican territory. To apply for a passport, both parents must go the municipal office closest to their home. In order to be able to leave Mexican territory, a letter prepared by a public notary is required, which specifies that the parent not traveling with the minor grants authorization to the spouse so that said minor may travel to the United States with one parent. It is also recommendable to mention that the minor will return to Mexico with the same parent.

Aeromexico offers you the peace of mind of the unaccompanied minor service, so that minors can travel alone safely, only on direct and connecting flights. Minors between 5 and 17 years of age can make use of this service. We have a special Form for unaccompanied minors, which must be filled out at the airport check-in desk. Our flight attendants and ground personnel take full responsibility for the minor's travel documents and procedures, both during the flight and on arrival at the destination.
