For safety reasons, specific seats on each aircraft are designated for passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility. These seats are assigned at the airport during check-in and are always located by the aisle.

Please note that, for safety reasons, seats in the emergency exit rows cannot be assigned to passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility.

In compliance with ENAC Regulation DG16/07/2021, companions of passengers with disabilities or reduced mobility are entitled to seat assignments at no additional cost.
If you are traveling with a companion, Aeroméxico will make every reasonable effort to assign a seat next to you or as close as possible.

Aeroméxico may request a MEDIF (Medical Information Form) authorization from the passenger or their doctor under the following circumstances:

Passengers with infectious diseases that could pose a risk to flight safety, including potential diversions or emergency landings.
Passengers requiring medical assistance or equipment (e.g., those with noticeable breathing difficulties), as their condition could deteriorate during or as a result of the flight.
Passengers who have undergone surgery within 30 days prior to departure.

When booking your flight, please inform Aeroméxico if you need to travel with a wheelchair or other mobility aids. You may transport up to two mobility aids (e.g., a wheelchair and a walker) free of charge.

Depending on your assistance requirements, an airport-provided wheelchair may be necessary. For detailed information, we recommend consulting the website of the European departure airport.

While Aeroméxico makes every effort to transport mobility devices safely, certain factors may limit their transportation. To ensure clarity on any restrictions, please provide details about the type of wheelchair or mobility device you wish to transport:

Manual Wheelchair

Your manual wheelchair will be collected either at the check-in counter or after boarding assistance has been provided. It will then be transported in the aircraft’s cargo hold.

Wheelchairs and Mobility Devices Powered by Non-Sealed (Spillable) Batteries
Aeroméxico does not accept wheelchairs or mobility devices powered by non-sealed (spillable) batteries.
Wheelchairs and Mobility Devices Powered by Sealed (Non-Spillable) Batteries

If your wheelchair or mobility device is powered by sealed batteries and can be placed upright in the cargo compartment, the battery may remain attached, provided the following conditions are met:

The battery is securely attached to the wheelchair or mobility device.
The battery’s electrical contacts are protected against short circuits.
The electrical circuits are isolated.
One (1) spare battery up to 300 Wh or two (2) non-spillable batteries up to 160 Wh are permitted.

Wheelchairs and Mobility Devices Powered by Lithium-Ion Batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are classified as hazardous and are subject to the following conditions for transport:
The batteries must be of a tested type and comply with the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, subsection 38.3.
Lithium batteries may remain installed in the mobility aid if they are securely attached and protected from damage by its design. Alternatively, they may be removed following the manufacturer’s instructions.
If the user removes the battery (as per the device’s design), it must not exceed 300 Wh.
If the battery remains installed, there is no Wh limit.
Passengers are allowed to carry:

One (1) spare battery not exceeding 300 Wh, or two (2) spare batteries, each not exceeding 160 Wh. Passengers are only allowed to carry spare batteries when using the mobility aid. Spare and removed batteries must be transported exclusively in the passenger cabin and placed in strong, durable packaging.

If the mobility aid does not meet safety requirements, it may not be permitted on board. To ensure compliance, please provide the wheelchair’s technical data sheet, including detailed battery specifications, to our Special Services team when booking.

Maximum Wheelchair Dimensions

The maximum allowable dimensions (in inches) for individual wheelchairs to ensure compliance with standard design requirements as follows:

E90 Aircraft: 48 x 40 x 28 (length x width x height)
B-737 Aircraft: 43 x 48 x 33 (length x width x height)
B-787 Aircraft: 92 x 33 x 43 (length x width x height)

The maximum weight allowed for wheelchairs is 440 lbs.
